USW Local 1945 is proud to invite our members to apply for 2023 "Philip Murray Memorial Scholarship"
One scholarship, each with a value of $1,500.00, is to be made available for use during recipients' first year at any accredited college, university, vocational or technical institution in the United States or Canada. Scholarships will be awarded in May 2023 by the Scholarship and Existence Fund, USW District 12, as determined by a selection committee comprised of professional educators.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
- Children, stepchildren, or legal wards of active members of local unions affiliated with the Scholarship and Existence Fund, United Steelworkers, District 12;
- Must have a 2.75 GPA or better during junior or senior year in high school; and,
- Graduate from high school in 2023.
The Philip Murray Memorial Scholarship does not discriminate based on sex, gender identity, national origin, sexual orientation, race, religion (including non-belieD, political affiliation and intended course of study.

- California (Sub-District 1): 9 Awards
- Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah (Sub-District 2): 2 Awards
- Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington and Idaho (Sub-District 3): 3 Awards
